ARBITRATOR UPHOLDS NFLPA AGENT DISCIPLINE COMMITTEE’S SUSPENSION OF CONTRACT ADVISOR BRIAN BRUNDAGE

On December 22, 2016, the NFLPA Committee on Agent Regulation and Discipline (“CARD”) imposed discipline on Brian Brundage based on an indictment issued by a federal court in Chicago alleging multiple felonies involving fraud and tax evasion.

Pursuant to the “extraordinary circumstances” provision in Section 6 (B) of the Regulations, CARD immediately suspended Brundage’s certification due the serious nature of the charges. Brundage appealed CARD’s discipline.

On March 5, 2017, Arbitrator James Conway denied Brundage’s appeal. His certification will remain suspended until the charges are resolved and until CARD determines what additional action, if any, is necessary.
