Proceeds to be Donated to Charities Supported by NFLPA Community MVPs

BOSTON, January 11th, 2019 – Life is Good, the Boston-based positive lifestyle apparel brand, will celebrate its newly formed partnership with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) via its licensing and marketing arm, NFL Players Inc., by releasing a collection of limited edition T-shirts licensed by the NFLPA on January 11th, 2019.  Earlier this fall, the NFLPA announced Life is Good’s support of the Community MVP program, highlighting shared values in giving back to those in need.

Each week over the course of the NFL regular season, the NFLPA has chosen a player as Community MVP for making a positive impact on his team’s city or hometown.  Life is Good has designed unique T-shirt graphics for each winner of the award and will further these MVPs’ causes by donating a portion of proceeds to each player’s chosen charity or foundation.

“Life is Good is proud to partner with the NFLPA to highlight its Community MVP program,” says Bert Jacobs, Life is Good co-founder and Chief Executive Optimist.  “These players are outstanding examples of Life is Good values in action: spreading the power of optimism and helping those in need. Just as we have always done through our own Life is Good Kids Foundation, we are happy to support these MVP playmakers who grow the good in their communities.”

"NFL players are superheroes in their communities,” said Steve Scebelo, Vice President, Licensing and Business Development, NFL Players Inc. “We are extremely proud to add a value-based company like Life is Good as a new NFLPA licensee and Community MVP partner. Like the NFL players they are celebrating via this creative new product line, the work Life is Good does is transformative and makes a positive impact in the community.”

The collection will feature 18 different T-shirt designs, one for each of the players selected as Community MVPs by the NFLPA – the list includes LA Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, New England Patriots Devin and Jason McCourty, and the Buccaneers Gerald McCoy. Each player’s graphic is unique to them, featuring his number, name and signature.  The Life is Good x NFLPA commemorative T-shirt collection is available at LifeisGood.com/NFLPA, Fanatics.com and FansEdge.com while supplies last.

About the NFL Players Association

The National Football League Players Association is the union for professional football players in the National Football League. Established in 1956, the NFLPA has a long history of assuring proper recognition and representation of players’ interests. The NFLPA has shown that it will do whatever is necessary to assure that the rights of players are protected—including ceasing to be a union, if necessary, as it did in 1989. In 1993, the NFLPA again was officially recognized as the union representing the players and negotiated a landmark Collective Bargaining Agreement with the NFL. The current CBA will govern the sport through 2020. Learn more at www.nflpa.com.
